THE OFFICE INTERIOR PROJECT GROUP®

Project: Co-Working Office Space Design

Sector: Co-Working

Location: Tunbridge Wells, Kent

Scope: The Office Interior Project Group® was engaged to create concept and detailed designs for the first purpose-designed co-working space in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. Working closely with all key project stakeholders, the collaborative design process resulted in an engaging and space efficient internal arrangement for delivery by client’s own contractor. In order to succeed as a co-working environment for creatives, the building needed to provide a rich mixture of spaces, from individual touch-down workstation positions for freelancers to enclosed offices for start-ups and micro-businesses. Arguably of greater importance, though, were the communal spaces. It was clear from the outset that the eating, meeting and event spaces were pivotal to the creation of a sense of community. These areas were therefore a key focus. Originally constructed as two dwellings, the design included the removal of an existing wall elevation to turn two small kitchens into a larger shared space. The building is now home to a vibrant community of creatives, constantly operating at, or very close to, capacity.

Client Comments: “Your involvement was key to the success of this project. Thank you.”
